List large objects with their length, width and height. For boxes, include the quantity and approximate weight. If you do not know the weight, say so rather than supplying an unreliable figure.
Mention whether a wardrobe is dismantled or a sofa has removable legs and sides. Available space inside the van is only part of the question: each item must also pass through the loading opening. A photograph can support your description, but it cannot replace measurements.
State the floor, whether a lift is available and whether the largest object will fit inside it. A narrow corridor, a staircase turn or steps outside the entrance can affect the carrying arrangements.
Check access at both addresses. A locked courtyard, low archway or height restriction may limit where the vehicle can stop. Explain the distance between the stopping point and the entrance. Easy loading at the collection address does not mean unloading will be equally straightforward.
Providing a cargo vehicle, supplying movers, packing belongings and dismantling furniture are different tasks. Before confirming, ask which services are available and what the agreed price includes. Do not assume that the driver will carry heavy objects without a prior arrangement.
If you pack the items yourself, protect vulnerable corners and surfaces, label the boxes and have everything ready at the agreed time. Check the manufacturer's instructions for transporting appliances, and discuss suitable load securing before departure.
Instead of saying "I need a vehicle for furniture," describe the job: "One dismantled table, two small cabinets and eight boxes. The longest component is 160 cm. Collection is from the second floor without a lift; the destination has a goods lift. Please confirm whether carrying assistance is available."
This illustrates how to structure a request, rather than specifying which vehicle will fit the load. Add the remaining dimensions, the weight, both addresses, the preferred time and the contact details of the person receiving the items.
