Non-standard situations and the driver's reaction to them

It is important to understand that the work of a taxi driver is not only in its main function — making trips, but also in the ability to accurately and professionally get out of difficult and unexpected situations. The driver must know how to get out of this or that situation, and also try to identify and prevent trouble before it occurs. To do this, you must be extremely observant, responsible and know a certain plan of action.

Actions in case of inappropriate passenger behavior

If a taxi is called by a phone number, then the operator of any service can determine how adequate the person placing the order is. If the operator determines that the client is inadequate, then he must filter such an order. However, in our time, a taxi can also be called online, so the likelihood of meeting such a passenger increases. And when meeting with an aggressive, drunk, obscene or even threatening passenger, the driver must know what to do.

First and foremost — contact the service operator. If you see that a client of an inadequate nature, frankly drunk, etc., is getting into your car, you have the right to refuse to fulfill such an order. Tell the operator about the problem and the reasons why you refuse to make the trip, it is better to do this as soon as possible.

A completely different case is if the passenger manifests himself already during the trip. Then the driver should act like this:

  • inform the service operator about the incident, clarify the current coordinates, tell the passenger that you have his data — such a statement often sobers the client's mind and he calms down;
  • If attempts to calm the passenger do not help and you feel a threat to safety, try to stop in a crowded place or near the police post, attracting the attention of others — this way the passenger can quickly lose interest in such offenses.

Action in case of refusal of payment for the service

Such cases are not uncommon, so it is important for the driver to maintain concentration and act as follows:

  • contact the service operator who can try to resolve the conflict;
  • if the passenger is traveling with personal luggage, do not give it back until he has paid for the services.

Proper behavior in case of an accident

Unfortunately, traffic flow is unpredictable and taxi accidents can happen. How to properly respond to the driver during an accident:

  • Stop, turn on the emergency signal, do not move the car from the scene of the incident, and call the police.
  • Assess the situation, find out if there are victims, provide first aid and call an ambulance.
  • If you and the passenger were not injured in an accident, call him a new car to deliver him to a safe place.

Auto-setup and driver actions

A taxi driver may also encounter intruders. In such a situation, the main thing is concentration, confidence, self-control. Contact the police, insurance, friends who could help. Speak loudly and confidently, do not let intruders intimidate you, do not give in to persuasion and requests to rearrange the car. Remember and tell the signs and the number of the car that you suspect of auto-fraud.

If you really meet intruders of this nature, then by showing them that you are calling the police, you will already ensure relative safety for yourself and the passenger, since it is not reasonable for intruders to meet with police representatives. After that, be sure to report the information to the police, and for the passenger, call another car.

Stay vigilant and act wisely in any non-standard situation!
